Charlaine Harris ‘Southern vampire mysteries of s were such fun and creative series written for a while. But the mood and spirit that characterized the first four or five books seems to have completely exhausted by this ninth book, leaving the reader with an array of disconnected characters, and not agitated in which the author seems to have been determined for each minor character at the expense of clarity or any reflection by the main characters.

The characters, including Sookie itself, appear to be in a fog in this book, and speak out of character. Even the big scary vampire Eric, still one of the most fun to read, just seems off. (Spoiler: it is willing to discuss his painful personal history out into the open in a public place, the helm?) In the distance thrown in the air of personal revelations are never absorbed by the characters and are never revisited . The book is not as it really is against-productive in terms of feeling any empathy for the central characters.

Readers should be warned about the massive violence in the book. (Spoiler: The many deaths of pregnant women are they just a promise or a hope lost by clumsy signaling device, maybe they are arrested hopes for this book?)

The issue of displacement of the resolution of the claim and lack of development or regression of Sookie de ’s character on the question of the relationship is disappointing. As a reader who has followed the series for some time, I ‘m almost to the point where I no longer am concerned with who she ends up. Not a good place for an author is with its readers. Does it really intended to encourage readers not to worry about his heroin or not to give the impression that its heroine is incapable of changing?

The number of continuity errors for a book with this base of sales is really surprising. Because Eric did not recall that Sookie was never paid for his work in book 7, because of the Sookie doesn le ‘t remember his father and great-uncle were twins to the fact Claude and Claudine ’s sister had died by Claudia Claudette and not to the fact that the food and not sanctify Clancy killed witches dos le’ s representative in Book 4, by the way Eric said he ” remembers ‘but seems to have forgotten what he remembers a time rather sensitive. The writing, continuity wise, or even factwise, appears not to have been corrected based on tests at all!

The book reads as a Draft and has a sense of incoherence which discourages over others in the series. The goal just to get it he was knocked out before the new season of true blood? The publisher and editor did he think the series the fans wouldn la ‘t notice? It reads, frankly, as a betrayal. And as a reader of the series, the I of ‘m seriously hoping these isn ‘ t the next round of Anita Blake in terms of steady deterioration of quality and content. This book makes me wonder. The editor seems to have Ms. Harris made a great injustice by leaving out in such a form as disconnected and continuity errors.

Hope let ’s the book Sookie Stackhouse gets 10 on the course.

Doesn ‘t measure up,

I really, really fell in love with this series, and I read each of the previous books four or five times in the last 10 months. There are great books and a fair right reserve, but I must say, to I think the quality of the writing and plot and history of dead and gone fell way below that of the previous books in the series of Sookie.

To be specific, as several other reviews I think that the appearance and disappearance of characters have been hasty, and Harris didn ‘t give adequately the time Sookie seem reasonable to many emotional events. It is felt as though Harris wrote in shorthand - and while it may be correct for descriptions of the introduction of characters and places at the beginning of each book, it makes the reader a service for substantive action. (SPOILER) just an example was moving out of Octavia - he was arrested and never mentioned again, an obvious room to get through Sookie ’s empty and yet could have more Sookie intimate moments tell us

I also thought that Harris was soon dropped completely by increasing the mythology of the series. In each of our previous novels le ‘VE have discovered something new about the structure of the supernatural world. There was nothing New in this book, and worse, Harris has neglected the issues of balancing all previous books: for example the complication of Eric discovered that Sookie can read his mind intermittently (or at least looking at Sookie or increasing the competence of a any way or contained outside the origin of the capacity - beyond the fairy blood), expansion and increased Sookie ’s telepathic powers (as we have seen in previous books that she tried to read not just minds but the leaders or actually speak) and greater telepathic powers that have been left to hear all the dead and all other books, the greatest mystery of shapeshifters pure (which can turn into anything) and the magic behind this, and, of course, if Eric and Sookie have emotional connection beyond the bond of blood or if it can be broken, etc.. Even Eric promised backstory that was just a little lower encapsulated in the book - no further development of Sookie even asking, much less talking, more about Eric de ’s father and if he ‘ s still around, etc. . he had never tested his descendants, and so on. It is also a surprisingly short book compared to most other - as it was 300 pages this time and said simply done !

I think I ‘m being generous giving the book 3 stars, but I ‘ m always invested in the series - now. After reading and rereading all the books and Sookie Harris ” serious view j £ ‘ I moved to the Anita Blake series (by Laurel Hamilton, Harris NO, but often recommended as a reading of similar kind) to become only more and more disgusted by the contradictions and writing poorer and poorer after the first book that I didn thereafter le ‘t care what happened to Ms. Blake and now have completely stopped reading after # 12. Harris has a long way to go before anyone should leave it on - the best of the books were first book with just a few dives along the way. It ’s why it is such a disappointment for me. I will be here for books to come for sure, because that I ‘ma glutton for punishment and to Sookie hasn ‘ t also pushed the rails again. And yes, I always recommended that anyone reading the series just to wait until the time next (or harpist Connelly outgoing in the autumn). I just hope the next books relate the fabulation and trace structure the ‘VE come to be expected by Charlaine Harris.

In addition, A + to Amazon for shipping - I pre-ordered in November with the dispatch of two days and waiting for the book on Thursday, May 7, but it came on Tuesday, May 5!

Beyond disappointing to me and let myself down, I think I ‘m reduced

This review is from: Dead and gone (Sookie Stackhouse, Book 9) (In hard cover book)

I wanted to atleast give the book three stars before Jesus Christ that I love the series so much, do I have to agree with the majority of negative reviews on it and say, ce happened? . The last book of the dead to worse, and was detailed and long, it was wonderful! I felt like I was reading a short version of hand-edited or extremely low in the song that had to fit in a number of words. C. if the had kept the same argument for this book and we had just given the details of plot and depth of character demonstrated in the last book, this book was simply phenomenal! As fan, I find that not only disappointed but extremely frustrating.

ARGH! THE *** *** TAKE CARE OF THERE BE SPOILERS FROM HERE **********************************

OK, so the two stars were basically give us atleast some improvement with the whole Eric / Sookie, though he still basically went nowhere. So he fooled in what is basically a form of marriage and vampire she barely reacted - it was more of a hissy fit when he yelled at her for dancing with the bellhops to barry in Rhodes! She blames her lack of anger on his blood relationship, but also declare that it hasn ‘t seen him for months and should diminish somewhat over time he just seemed strange. And also ordered that this argument is, it wasn ‘t even addressed or responded to by anyone (except Saturday, but barely). I mean early! I ‘t know why it is important, however, before I found Jesus Christ in the next book she’ll find something to be crazy for him and will be on outputs such as invoices, quinn, and everyone else get it ’s involved - I feel just like the whole Eric thing that had accumulated over so many books there should have more time to develop before they finally get it ‘ s ruined for the further development of parcel of land - we ‘Summer VE teased enough. Give us something more than a few scenes!

Perhaps the most frustrating aspect of this book for me was lack of Sookie ’s initiative in supporting research and supe protection for itself! Especially after the last book finally summarize its strong support with vamps and weres! It was ridiculous that she knew she was referred to be killed (or worse), actually ends up killing a fairy sent to kill her, and it takes days to request any assistance or for real call in his markers with supe vamps or Alcide. When finally she says the aid, he ‘assurance of lame who falls through and doesn ‘ t call it the support? The insurance doesn le ‘t tell their bosses they were left unprotected? It doesn ‘t want to worry his friends who could help or at least be warned that being around Sookie can be dangerous, and doesn ‘ t tell them it? It doesn ‘t say that his brother is also a potential target, jusqu’ensuite than we are approaching the fairies? !

Eric leaves and why does her bed, knowing that the issue of security is not defined? Yeah, he suggested that perhaps it remain in its place, but the whole issue of his safey is mystified by what are you looking for in the report , against hey, killer fairies are out to get my love that I le ‘VE just officially claimed in the community supe even tried for the murder today, and I ‘ m out the door with a “see ya soon “? This doesn ‘t seem at all like Eric. Sir, the possessive type of vampire who always sends Bubba during a time of all the worries? ! I mean really he was Sookie DATE Pam le ‘companion Amelia s room, Pam just get even closer to protect Sookie, but let there completely unprotected after a fairy judicata for THE KILLING? ? Why not leave it to arrange for his security? Why hasn of landing at slotted le ‘t Niall they were responsible for security for her from the beginning, or even after the first attempt his life? Why is it that doesn le ‘t Claudine, who reveals there when Sookie falls asleep at the wheel of a car show when Faries are tested to kill her? What? And why is it that in God le ’s name, you run out of your shopping when you need a killer body guard before Jesus Christ that fairies are out to kill you - you are really the need to go to the post office that badly? Come on!

In addition, violence. Torture? Kill pregnant women? This has added nothing to the story and was simply inconvenient and unnecessary. The characters she has killed off - why? And more detail has been provided to Sookie to the ’s reaction to octavia hence the second pregnant woman ‘ s murder, which was just a complete loss - the loss of what a great character in such horrific circumstances.

And then, to complete at a distance, the amazing world of all fae is just closed at the end anyway, after all that - what a waste of plot and characters. I ‘m hoping that ‘ s not the case, and more will be done with it in the next book? Honestly, I would have liked if Sookie had known brands in almost immediately and all his friends and family supe fairy took the threat serioulsy, but I was just slammed down by the ruthless manner in which the fairies were, resulting becoming the uber Eric and protective of all the Supes to work and fight together against them as a common threat to their common bond, our Sookie gallon! Yeah! ! Atleast there was more action and the death of character would have felt justified!

Quinn is in a scene and then went for the rest of the book - why worry? Estacade slatted floor, how to access it had discovered that Sookie was in trouble and was urged to stay on to keep regardless of Eric - the type ‘weretiger of SA and a fighter of mine trying to prove ! This would have been a little fresh, and interesting from a triangle of love also!

We were told that the hunter was in this book - what a mention in a phone call? Sookie and then just assumes the child ’s not a target before Jesus Christ that she thought of Niall doesn ‘ t know him? Give the child le ’s father of a warning, something get left for the child for some time, be careful, look out for bad boys, stocks up on lemon juice - something !

Ok, obviously I found the frustration of book and I think my journal has turned into more than one session of threapeutic cathartic to vent a comment. I “m not abandoning the Sookie, just hoping this is an anomaly, and hope more ch ’s writing large in the future (please). Although, if the book continues to be the average of 4 out of 5 stars (the geez, are we reading the same book people here?), I can ‘t believe that the author provide any incentive for give us better in the future! Why put more work into something when readers are 4 / 5 happy with less?

It is a wonderful series, I ‘d hate for him to deterioate!
